Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Data Protection Analyst to join our team and support our growing Data Protection Officer (DPO) services in Jamaica, specifically under the Jamaica Data Protection Act. This role will play a critical part in delivering our data protection services to clients, helping ensure their compliance with data protection laws, and maintaining high standards for data privacy and security.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support Data Protection Services: Assist in delivering comprehensive DPO services to clients, including data protection registration, compliance assessments, DPIA, Records of Processing Activities (RoPA), and privacy policy development.
  • Monitor Compliance: Track, review, and report on clients’ data protection and privacy practices to ensure ongoing compliance with the Jamaica Data Protection Act.
  • Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIA): Conduct annual DPIAs for clients to evaluate and mitigate privacy risks, ensuring accurate and timely submissions to the Office of the Information Commissioner.
  • Data Breach Management: Support incident response and data breach investigations, document and report incidents, and coordinate communication to ensure timely resolution.
  • Documentation and Record-Keeping: Maintain detailed records of data protection activities, client communications, and regulatory submissions.
  • Client Training & Education: Develop and deliver training sessions to clients and their employees, enhancing awareness of data protection responsibilities and best practices.
  • Policy and Process Development: Assist in developing and refining data protection policies and procedures tailored to individual client needs.
  • Vendor and Third-Party Management: Support assessment of data protection risks with third-party vendors and assist in ensuring proper data privacy measures are in place.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in law, information technology, business, or a related field.
  • 4+ years of experience in data protection, data privacy, or compliance roles.
  • Strong knowledge of data protection regulations and principles, preference for in the Jamaican context.
  • Experience conducting Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIA), RoPA, and other privacy compliance audits.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain (written and verbal) clearly and concisely.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple client accounts.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.

Position Overview: We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Sales/ Business Development Representative to join our team on a contract/commission-only basis. In this role, you will be responsible for driving sales, managing client relationships for the growth of HONOS Privacy. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual with a passion for sales and a keen interest in data privacy and protection.

Please note: HONOS is a growing startup dedicated to data privacy and data protection solutions. We are currently building our team on a contract basis, initially six (6) months. So please, carefully consider if a contract role works for you right now.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Sales Generation: Identify and engage potential clients through various channels, including cold outreach, networking, and inbound leads.
  • Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding their needs and ensuring they receive exceptional service throughout their engagement with HONOS.
  • Account Management: Manage client accounts, acting as the primary point of contact. Provide ongoing support, address client inquiries, and ensure client satisfaction.
  • Sales Reporting: Track and report on sales activities, client interactions, and progress toward sales targets. Provide regular updates to the management team.

Qualifications:

  • Experience in sales, business development, or account management, preferably within the technology, cybersecurity, or privacy sectors.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently, self-motivate, and manage time effectively.
  • Familiarity with data privacy, cybersecurity, or related industries is a plus.
  • Experience using CRM software and other sales tools.

Compensation: This is a commission-only role to start, with the opportunity for competitive commissions on closed deals (up to 10% on packages ranging between $60k-$100k). As HONOS grows, there will be opportunities for base salary, bonuses, and other benefits.

  • CIPP or CIPM certification preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage deadlines, and deliver results.
